There is not very much lag when you compare to anything above a stock turbo. I would almost say it comes on a lot quicker than most Z twins. Dennis and i are actually in the process of doing a jz swap on my Z in the next month or so.
Consider this, VG setup is unreliable above 600hp, the JZ engines can do 900hp all day and still not have any issues whatsoever.
There is a TON more room to access anything within minutes.
He beats the shit out of his setup and has had it with the jz for about 2-3yrs now. The ONLY thing he's done is change the oil. There is no going out and beating on it, and then having to work on it when he gets home.....unlike a high hp VG.
Parts are cheaper, easier to reach bigger hp, reliable and did i say reliable?
I was going to dump 10-12 k into a VG engine this winter but after going over the JZ swap, i will have the complete swap done and be around 900hp and will only have spent 9k total.
